Project Impacts

Motorists are advised that there will be nightly lane closures on both i-95 southbound and northbound from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (sunday through thursday). Project limits are from Exit 74 to exit 75.

2024 Project Activities Include:

Utility Work:

  • All utility work will be completed this winter.

I-95 74 Southbound On/Off Ramp

  • Installation of fill in available areas
  • Completion of Retaining Wall 105 (associated with Exit 74 I-95 southbound on-ramp)

Exit 74A I-95 Northbound On-Ramp

  • Rock blasting completed
  • Progressing with Retaining Wall 111
  • Drainage
  • Roadway widening
  • Installation of temporary earth retaining systems (TERS)

Latimer Brook

  • Selective demolition of certain existing components of the culvert
  • Installation of Retaining Wall 115
  • In-water work for environmental improvements

All above activities for Latimer Brook need to be completed in order to complete Exit 74 I-95 northbound on-ramp.

Route 161

  • Drainage (south side)
  • Partial gas main relocation

DOT Access Road

  • Progressing with Retaining Wall 111
  • Fine grading in preparation for paving

Bridge 00250 (I-95 Over Route 161)

  • Build new section of bridge
    • Install new abutments.
    • Set structural steel
    • Pour bridge decks

I-95

  • Retaining Wall 107
  • Retaining Wall 109
  • Build new temporary section of highway from Exit 74 I-95 northbound off-ramp to the new portion of bridge (this will allow for a realignment of traffic off of existing northbound lanes which will then be reconstructed)
