Nighttime Closure of I-95 Northbound Exit 74 On-Ramp

Monday, February 5, 2024 beginning @ 8 p.m.

The Exit 74 on-ramp to I-95 Northbound will be closed beginning Monday, February 5, 2024 at 8:00 p.m. until 5:00 a.m. the following morning (Tuesday, February 6th) to allow for the pinning of barrier along the right side of the ramp. Motorists should follow the detour below.

DETOUR: To access I-95 Northbound, motorists should continue on Route 161 north, turn right onto Route 1, turn left on to Cross Road, turn left on to Waterford Parkway, and take entrance ramp to I-95 Northbound.

 

 

 

Rock Blasting Scheduled for I-95 East Lyme

Rock blasting along I-95 will continue to take place Monday through Friday. As a result, I-95 NB/SB will be closed between the hours of 9:00 AM and 1:30 PM for 15 minutes for the blast.

During this time, motorists are encouraged to follow the detour below.

I-95 Northbound Detour: Motorists should take Exit 74 and continue on Route 161 north, turn right onto Route 1, follow Route 1 for 1/4 mile and turn left onto I-95 Northbound entrance ramp.

I-95 Southbound Detour: It is advised that motorists traveling on I-95 southbound take Exit 75, follow Route 1 to Route 161 south to access the I-95 southbound entrance ramp.

Permanent Closure of I-95 Northbound Exit 74 Off-Ramp - December 14, 2023 @ 8 p.m.

The Exit 74 off-ramp from I-95 Northbound will be closed beginning Thursday, December 14, 2023, at 8:00 p.m. to allow for the coordination and implementation of the opening of the newly constructed Exit 74 off-ramp as well as to relocate temporary precast concrete barrier. Tractor trailers and oversize vehicles are encouraged to use the detour noted below. All other motorists may use Exit 75. 

DETOUR: Tractor trailers and oversize vehicles should use Exit 81. At end of the exit, take a left onto Waterford Parkway South, left onto Cross Road, and another left to access I-95 Southbound to Exit 75.
