Project Impacts

Motorists are advised that there will be nightly lane closures on both i-95 southbound and northbound from 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (sunday through thursday). Project limits are from Exit 74 to exit 75.

Current Project Activities Include:

ROUTE 161 RECONSTRUCTION

  • Full depth reconstruction from Frontage Road to the entrance of Walgreens. Due to the significant raising of Route 161, approximately 2 feet in some locations, this work is planned to occur over nighttime work shifts. During the daytime hours, 500 foot sections of the roadway will be gravel for a period not to exceed ten (10) days. Traveling on gravel sections may cause traffic to move slower than usual. Local businesses will have their driveways maintained throughout this period. 

I-95 reconstruction

  • Full depth reconstruction of I-95 through project limits.
    • 12 foot fill (south of bridge) and 9 foot cut (north of bridge) 
  • Demolition of the first half of existing bridge.
  • Construction of a new (middle) section of bridge.
  • Temporary realignment of southbound.
  • Construction of temporary Exit 74 off-ramp (south).
